More Info on the Bands on Insane Show 201

Sunset Riot

Sunset Riot are fast becoming a household name. After 2 years of relentless touring across Australia’s eastern seaboard “Australia’s number one party rock band” (Qwik Rock Radio Station, State College PA, USA) set their sights on the USA. In mid-2011 over the course of 70 days, SUNSET RIOT traveled 18,000kms from Los Angeles to New York and back again, playing 35 shows and seeing many sights along the way.

As 2012 peeks over the horizon these energetic western Sydney hard rockers have re-entered the studio to record a follow-up to their international recognized debut, self-titled EP (produced by Steve James-Screaming Jets, Airbourne). This time they have enlisted the help of legendary producer Mark Opitz (INXS, ACDC, Cold Chisel, Noiseworks, Kiss, Bob Dylan) as they seek to take the next step in bringing their music to the world! Thank you so much for being apart of the journey and make sure you spread the word. Sunset Riot is your band and we are so grateful for your support!

Maid of Ace

Maid of Ace are an All-girl all sister punk band from south coast dirty Hastings! Spawned from the womb, brought up on rage picked up some instrument’s and started jamming and a year later played our first gig in 2005 at the school we all attended and been making a racket ever since!

Sons of Blackwater

Sons of Blackwater are southern rock you can eat with a fork. Deep metal roots with bluesy sauce covered in overtones of a semi truck driving down the highway at 110mph.

Leona X

Leona X as a very dynamic stage presence, Ms. X is what you get if you mix Gina Gershon, Angus Young, and a little bit of Vegas. She has been described as the Gibson Goddess of rock n roll, sexy and hard rocking, and will leave you thinking all the boys are overrated! Get ready for some down and dirty, grinding rock n roll!

Worhol

Worhol was fully formed in 2013 when the lead singer Ashley Worhol and her father Larry Worhol decided they wanted to follow their dream together as a team. Both having degrees in music, they knew that they had the knowledge it would take in writing their style of music. Larry being the guitarist as well as the orchestral composer, fit in perfectly with Ashley’s trained vocals. The father-daughter team started writing music close to ten years ago and knew they wanted to form a group and write original music and perform worldwide. With a classical background from both parties, Worhol’s music can be best described as symphonic and theatrical. Since Ashley and Larry are kin to Andy Warhol they decided to keep the band name in the family.

Once Worhol was set they reached out and found the rest of the members of the band; Craig Malinowski, bassist; Marty Naul, drummer. Over the 2013 year, Worhol produced their first music video to “The Darkness” and started writing compositions for their first album. Worhol has participated in several music festivals as well as played in many named venues inside and outside of the Houston area. Several articles have been recently published both in the United States as well as in Europe. Houston Press announced in 2013 Worhol’s music video “The Darkness” to be ranked #3 out of the Houston area. Worhol has been fortunate enough to have worked on their album with people such as John LeCompt from Evanescence, Stephen Bogle from The Hunger, as well as Mark Andes from Heart.

In 2014, Worhol really started to prove their name in the industry by opening up for Nationals Acts such as, Saving Abel, Puddle of Mudd, Surrender The Fall and Almost Kings as well as guest appearing on radio stations and being broadcasted live on Great Day Houston with a musical performance. In 2015, Worhol recently released their first album, “The Awakening” and have plans to tour Europe for their second time October 2015. Worhol was recently published in Billboard Magazine, Metal Onslaught Magazine, Fireworks Magazine and later this year will be published in other well known magazines as well.

Scarry Cherry & the Bang Bangs

Scarry Cherry & the Bang Bangs With sonic and artistic nods to 70’s glitter rock coupled with a snotty punk rawness, Scary Cherry’s debut LP GIRL is an assured, addled, four-on-the-floor joyride. Scary Cherry combines riot grrrl ethos with the pop smarts of The Runaways for a sound that salutes the past while paving its own hard rock path. From the spoken word album opener of Scary in the recording studio, GIRL is a raw, sometimes disturbing, but ultimately empowering journey through the eyes and life of a girl. The album is a glitter roller coaster, twisting and turning, coursing through a gamut of emotions with no exit until the last disturbing notes of a creepy piano and strings fade away.

While it may sound like the band hails from the gutters of NYC, Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs actually come from the most unlikely of homes: Dallas, TX. Born out of roller derby in the Lone Star State, team captain and coach for the (then undefeated) Slaughterers, Scary Cherry was asked to write a theme song for the league. Scary recruited like-minded friends and an unstoppable machine was created. 6 years, a few hundred shows and one EP later (the bratty titled Limited Edition 5 Song EP), Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs have garnered a loyal and ever growing fan base who refer to themselves and the band as Glitter Punks (a moniker the band wears with pride).

Barb Wire Dolls

Barb Wire Dolls are one of the most vital new bands in music today, representing all that is inspiring and furious about rock and roll. Hailing from an artist commune on the island of Crete, the band sold everything they owned and left crisis-ridden Greece in 2010 for Los Angeles, at the invite of legendary KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer. Upon their arrival in California, Barb Wire Dolls immediately sold out the world famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, boasting a live show that is second to none. The band has gone on to melt ears & hearts on 700 stages across 24 countries in just under five years – consistently selling out club dates in America, the UK and Europe.

Samantha Scarlette

Samantha Scarlette released her first EP titled “Into The Darkness” in digital format June 28th 2011. The songs on “Into The Darkness” were written by Samantha (music & lyrics) between October 2010 and March 2011. The songs mostly dealt with veiled vampire themes, and romance. The EP which was produced by former Scary Kids Scaring Kids drummer Justin Salter, was comprised of 4 studio recorded tracks (“Fallen Star”, “The Demon”, “Mourning Fantasy”, “Bitten [instrumental]”, and 5 garage band recorded tracks (“The Demon [original tempo]”, “The Let Down”, “Burn”, “Lights Out”, “Let Me In”). In October 2013 she released a new stand alone single titled “Iron Maiden”. She also re-released “Fallen Star” as a free download single in February 2014, accompanied by a music video. Samantha continued writing new music between from July 2013 until she went into the recording studio in July 2014. Samantha also trained from March until July with legendary singer, Sarah Dash (of Labelle and Keith Richards & The Xpensive Winos) to get her vocals in order for the new recordings.
